Lake City

Part of the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area, Lake City is a neighbourhood within Burnaby, British Columbia.

Transportation

This neighbourhood is an extremely convenient part of Burnaby for getting around by car. It is very convenient to park. On the other hand, Lake City is not especially transit friendly. Nonetheless, there are plenty of rapid transit stations on the Millennium Line and Expo Line. The neighbourhood is connected by approximately 10 bus lines, and most homes are very close to a bus stop. Physically active people will appreciate the moderately bicycling-friendly character of Lake City. In particular, the cycling infrastructure is good. Walking is not very convenient for home buyers in Lake City as very few common errands can be run without a car.

Services

Daycares and primary schools are convenient to access without the use of a car from most houses for sale in Lake City. On the other hand, there are only a very small number of high schools and therefore they can be a very long distance away. In terms of eating, it is very rarely possible for property owners in Lake City to do grocery shopping as pedestrians. Moreover, a restaurant is commonly just around the corner, and a small number of cafes is available as well.

Character

Home buyers who prefer a slower-paced environment will enjoy Lake City. Green spaces, such as Cameron Park and Forest Grove Park, are very well-situated and there are over 50 of them close by for residents to check out, which results in them being very easy to reach from numerous locations in the neighbourhood. Most areas in this part of Burnaby are very quiet, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour.

Housing

In Lake City, a small minority of dwellings are single detached homes, and the remainder are mainly large apartment buildings. Most of the properties in this area were constructed between 1980 and 1990, while most of the remaining buildings were built in the 1960s and the 2000s. This neighbourhood is primarily composed of four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy roughly 55% of the properties in Lake City and 45% are rented.
