Part of the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area, Cameron is a neighbourhood within Burnaby, British Columbia.


No matter the means of transportation, it is simple to move around in Cameron. Cameron will draw physically active people because it is well-suited for walking; carrying out day-to-day needs is easy. On the other hand, this part of the city is not very appropriate for bicycling since there are few bike lanes, and cyclists are faced with a considerable amount of slopes. Thanks to Lougheed Town Centre Station with access to the Expo Skytrain and Millennium Skytrain, and about 10 nearby bus lines, commuting by public transit is easy in Cameron. Driving is usually the preferred approach to get around in this part of the city. It is a reasonably short drive to the closest highway from any location in this area, and it is easy to access a place to park.


It is usually feasible for property owners in this area to shop for their groceries on foot. Additionally, Cameron is a good place in which to go out to eat or go to a cafe. It is also easy to access a selection of clothing stores on foot. In terms of education, families will appreciate that wherever their home is located in Cameron, schools and daycares are close by.


Despite the somewhat busy feel, there are a lot of green spaces to enjoy in Cameron. There are a few parks close by for residents to discover and they are very well-spread out, making it very easy to reach them. Finally, this neighbourhood has many parts that are very calm and quiet, although other spots can be noisy, especially near Trans-Canada Highway or the railway line.


Large apartment buildings are the predominant housing type, representing around two thirds of buildings in Cameron, and the rest are mainly small apartment buildings. This neighbourhood offers mainly one bedroom and two bedroom homes. The split between renters and homeowners is about even. Around 45% of properties in this part of Burnaby were built between 1960 and 1980, while the majority of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1980s and the 2000s.
