The neighbourhood of Central Coquitlam can be found in the city of Coquitlam, British Columbia, which is located in the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area.

Transportation

The favoured method to move around in this area is often driving. It is easy to park. On the other hand, Central Coquitlam is not particularly transit friendly. Thankfully, residents can count on the Moody Centre Station Eastbound, Moody Centre Station @ West Coast Express and Moody Centre Station Westbound on the West Coast Express. There are various rapid transit stations on the Millennium Line. Property owners benefit from approximately 10 bus lines, and it is very convenient to reach a nearby bus stop from most houses. There aren't many pedestrians out on the streets of Central Coquitlam, although running daily errands is easy without needing to resort to a car. On the other hand, Central Coquitlam is amenable to biking as there are a good number of bike lanes.

Services

It is sometimes feasible for property owners in this neighbourhood to buy groceries by walking. Moreover, there is commonly a restaurant or cafe in close proximity. With respect to education, schools and daycares are very easy to access by foot from anywhere in Central Coquitlam.

Roughly 80% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home and the remainder are renters. Single detached homes are the main housing type, representing the majority of dwellings in this part of Coquitlam, but duplexes are also present in the housing stock. This neighbourhood experienced its largest construction boom between 1960 and 1980, so most of the available housing is from this time period. There is a higher proportion of four or more bedroom homes in this area.
