Cedardale

Cedardale is a neighbourhood within West Vancouver, British Columbia, which is located in the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area.

Transportation

Walking is reasonably convenient for home buyers in Cedardale; many common errands can be run on foot. However, moving around by bicycle is very hard in this neighbourhood as the cycling network is quite bad, and bicycling is rendered strenuous by the typically steep topography. The public transit system in Cedardale is not particularly convenient. Nevertheless, the neighbourhood is served by a few bus lines, and bus stops are not very far-removed from most properties. On the other hand, the best method to navigate this part of the municipality is very often driving. It is a short car ride to the closest highway, such as Trans-Canada Highway, from any home in this part of West Vancouver, and it is especially convenient to park.

Services

Parents and their kids will find that wherever their house is located in Cedardale, daycares and primary schools are nearby. In contrast, this area does not contain any high schools. Concerning food, the nearest grocery store in Cedardale is usually only a reasonably short walk away. Moreover, this area is a fairly good place in which to go out to eat.

Character

Cedardale offers a wide variety of green spaces to enjoy, as well as some areas with a vibrant ambience. It is very easy to access green spaces since there are around 10 of them nearby for residents to discover. Finally, as there are few people out and about on the streets, this part of the municipality remains relatively quiet, although those who are near Trans-Canada Highway may experience higher levels of noise.

Housing

In Cedardale, about 30% of buildings are small apartment buildings, but large apartment buildings and single detached homes are also present in the housing stock. This part of West Vancouver also has a good variety of housing sizes; homes range from lofts to four or more bedrooms. Homeowners occupy about 70% of the properties in Cedardale and 30% are rented. Around one quarter of homes in this part of the municipality were constructed between 1990 and 2000, while many of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 1960s.
