Part of the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area, Central Lonsdale is a neighbourhood within City of North Vancouver, British Columbia.

Transportation

This area offers home buyers several alternative means of transportation. Physically active people will welcome the pedestrian-friendly character of Central Lonsdale; many daily errands can be run without needing to resort to a vehicle, and there are also a fair number of businesses in proximity. Despite the fact that the cycling network is reasonably good, and some pleasant pockets for bicycling exist, cycling is sometimes challenging in Central Lonsdale since there are quite a few slopes. With a few nearby bus lines, travelling by public transit is easy in this part of the city. Driving is also a good transportation option in Central Lonsdale. Many houses for sale are a short drive from the closest highway, such as Trans-Canada Highway.

Services

It is a short walk to access schools and daycares from most properties for sale in Central Lonsdale. With respect to food, it is straightforward to reach both a general and a specialty grocery store on foot from any home in Central Lonsdale. Moreover, this neighbourhood is a fairly good place in which to go out to eat or go to a cafe.

Home buyers who prefer a calm atmosphere will enjoy Central Lonsdale. Most areas in this part of City of North Vancouver are quiet, as there tend to be low levels of noise from traffic - although that is not the case closer to Trans-Canada Highway. Finally, access to parks is very easy from the majority of locations within the neighbourhood since there are about 10 of them nearby for residents to relax in.

Housing

Around one third of properties in Central Lonsdale were constructed in the 1960s and 1970s, while most of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 1980s. Small apartment buildings are the most common housing type, representing about half of dwellings in this neighbourhood, and the remainder are mainly large apartment buildings and townhouses. The split between homeowners and renters is about even. This neighbourhood is primarily composed of two bedroom and one bedroom homes.
