Cariboo-Armstrong is a neighbourhood within Burnaby, British Columbia, which is situated in the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area.


This neighbourhood is very car friendly. It is a reasonably short drive to the closest highway, such as Trans-Canada Highway, from any home in Cariboo-Armstrong, and parking is generally easy. In contrast, the public transit system in Cariboo-Armstrong is sometimes poor. Nevertheless, there are a few bus lines passing through the neighbourhood, and it is very convenient to find a nearby bus stop from most residences. It is challenging to get around by bike in Cariboo-Armstrong as riding is made arduous by the often sloping topography, and there are few bike lanes. There also aren't many pedestrians out on the streets of this area, although running daily errands is easy on foot.


The closest supermarket in this part of Burnaby is generally only a rather short walk away. Furthermore, a restaurant is often just around the corner. With regards to education, parents and their schoolchildren will find that wherever their property is situated in this area, daycares and schools are nearby.


Cariboo-Armstrong is a good neighbourhood to buy a house in for those who prefer a relaxed environment. It is very easy to get to parks in the neighbourhood since there are a few of them nearby for residents to check out. This part of Burnaby is quiet overall, as the streets are generally calm - although there are still several louder sections, especially near Trans-Canada Highway, Gaglardi Way or the railway line.


Single detached homes are the predominant housing type, representing roughly one third of dwellings in Cariboo-Armstrong, and the rest are mainly small apartment buildings, duplexes, and townhouses. This neighbourhood is primarily composed of three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes. Roughly 70% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home and the remainder are renters. The homes in this area are quite new, because about one third of its dwellings were constructed in the 1990s, while many of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 1960s.
