The borough of Lachenaie is part of the city of Terrebonne, Quebec, which is located in the Greater Montreal metropolitan area.


This borough is an extraordinarily convenient part of Terrebonne for getting around by car. The majority of houses for sale are a short drive from the nearest highway, such as Autoroute 640, and parking is generally easy. In contrast, the public transit service in Lachenaie is rather limited. Nonetheless, there is the Gare Terrebonne with access to the Mascouche Line. The borough is served by about 20 bus lines, and bus stops are not very far away from most properties. It is challenging for pedestrians to navigate this part of Terrebonne as running daily errands is occasionally difficult.


Some property owners in this borough may be able to travel to one of around 10 supermarkets on foot, while others will have to rely on another means of transportation. Residents can enjoy over 50 restaurants and coffee shops as well. In terms of education, in this borough, families will commonly be able to access daycares on foot. In contrast, it can be challenging to get to primary schools and high schools as a pedestrian from properties for sale in Lachenaie.


The character of Lachenaie is exemplified by its relaxed atmosphere. Most areas in this part of the city are quiet, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour - although that is not the case around one of the railway lines, Autoroute 640 or Autoroute 25. Lastly, the greenery in this area is not very prominent; however, there are about 40 green spaces close by for residents to relax in, resulting in them being easy to get to from a large number of locations in Lachenaie.


Single detached homes are the most common housing type, representing the majority of dwellings in Lachenaie, whereas the remainder are mainly small apartment buildings. This area is primarily composed of two bedroom and three bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy about 80% of the dwellings in the borough whereas the remainder are rented.
