The borough of La Plaine is part of the city of Terrebonne, Quebec, which is located in the Greater Montreal metropolitan area.


The car is usually the preferred approach to move around in La Plaine. Parking is quite easy. On the other hand, La Plaine is not very transit friendly. Nonetheless, the borough is served by a few bus lines, and the nearest bus stop is generally very close. Many of the homes for sale in this part of the city are located in places that are not very conducive to walking as very few common errands can be run without the use of a vehicle.


In La Plaine, families will generally be able to reach primary schools and daycares on foot. In contrast, there are only a few high schools and consequently they can be an extended walk away.
