Fairview is a neighbourhood in the Greater Montreal metropolitan area, which is located within the province of Quebec, Canada.


The car is usually the favoured means of transportation in Fairview. The majority of houses for sale are a short car ride from the nearest highway, such as Autoroute Félix-Leclerc, and finding a parking spot is quite easy. On the other hand, the public transit system in Fairview is somewhat poor. Nevertheless, the neighbourhood is linked by approximately 20 bus lines, and bus stops are not very far away from most properties. Cycling is challenging in Fairview as the bicycling network is not very comprehensive. Nonetheless, some bike-friendly sectors exist, and cyclists do not face serious slopes. There are also relatively few pedestrians out on the streets of Fairview, even though many common errands can be run without the use of a car.


Daycares are easy to access on foot from most homes for sale in Fairview. In contrast, there are only a limited number of high schools in Fairview and thus they can be a long walk away. Moreover, this area does not have any primary schools. In terms of eating, it is often possible for home buyers in this part of Pointe-Claire to purchase groceries by walking. Likewise, those who like to dine in restaurants will have a good number of opportunities, and there are also approximately 10 coffee shops in Fairview. However, most streets have quite bad tree coverage. Finally, since there are few pedestrians, this part of Pointe-Claire is relatively quiet; however noise levels are higher closer to the railway line or Autoroute Félix-Leclerc.


Homeowners occupy about three quarters of the dwellings in the neighbourhood whereas the remainder are rented. Single detached homes are the main housing type, representing about half of dwellings in this part of Pointe-Claire, while the rest are mainly large apartment buildings and townhouses. About 45% of properties in this neighbourhood were built in the 1960s and 1970s, while the majority of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1980s and the 1990s. This part of the city is primarily composed of four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes.
