Situated within the Kitchener - Cambridge - Waterloo metropolitan area, Conestoga is a neighbourhood in Waterloo, Ontario.


This part of Waterloo is very car friendly. It is very easy to come across a place to park, and nearby highways, such as Highway 85, are especially easy to reach from anywhere in this neighbourhood. However, public transit riders may experience limited choices in Conestoga due to the infrequent service. Thankfully, it is convenient to find a nearby rapid transit station, such as Northfield Station with access to the 301 | Ion, from most houses in the neighbourhood. There are a few bus lines traversing the neighbourhood, and most homes are very close to a bus stop. Conestoga is not very bike-friendly because the cycling network is not very extensive, and there are quite a few slopes. There are also relatively few pedestrians out on the streets of Conestoga, despite the fact that running daily errands is convenient.


In Conestoga, families will usually be able to access daycares on foot. On the other hand, there are only a few high schools in this neighbourhood and accordingly they can be a long walk away. In addition, Conestoga does not have any primary schools. With regards to eating, it is easy to get to the nearest grocery store on foot in Conestoga. In addition, those who like to dine in restaurants will have a good number of choices, and house buyers are served by a few cafes as well.


Conestoga offers a wide variety of green spaces to enjoy. Although this part of the city is not home to any parks, green spaces are very well-situated in nearby neighbourhoods, making them easy to reach from the majority of locations within the neighbourhood. Lastly, this area is relatively quiet, thanks to the presence of very few pedestrians, although those who are near Highway 85 or the railway line may experience more noise.

This area has a good choice of housing size options, ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. Renters occupy about two thirds of the units in the neighbourhood and the rest are occupied by owners. Many of the homes in this neighbourhood were built between 1960 and 1980, while the majority of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1980s.
