Transportation

Howard Street is among the most lively streets in this part of Toronto. St. James Town is reasonably quiet overall, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour. There is a fair amount of greenery in this neighbourhood; there are a few public green spaces close by for residents to explore and they are especially well-spread out, which results in them being very easy to access from the majority of locations in this neighbourhood. In addition, residents will find that there are numerous tree-lined streets.

Housing

The predominance of large apartment buildings in the housing stock of St. James Town is an important part of its character. This neighbourhood is especially good for those looking for one bedroom homes. Nearly all of the units in the neighbourhood are occupied by renters and owners occupy the remainder. This neighbourhood experienced its largest building boom between 1960 and 1980, so most of the available housing is from this era.
