Transportation

This part of the city provides property owners with the choice between several means of transportation. Travelling on foot is very feasible for house buyers in Casa Loma; running daily errands is very easy by walking, and many businesses are reasonably close by. Casa Loma is also a very pleasant part of Toronto for cyclists. In particular, there are a fair number of bike lanes. Homeowners can count on public transit to travel in Casa Loma. There are a few bus lines traversing the neighbourhood, and bus stops are generally nearby. Driving is also a reasonably good transportation option in Casa Loma because it is typically not too bothersome to park.

Services

It is a short walk to access daycares and schools from most houses for sale in Casa Loma. As far as food is concerned, property owners in this area will be pleased to learn that a general and a specialty grocery store is always only a very short walk away. In addition, there are a few restaurants and a few cafes to experience in Casa Loma. An excellent choice of clothing stores is also available within a very short walking distance, for instance along St Clair Avenue.

Character

Casa Loma has a character that caters to a fairly diverse group of people. Finding vibrant areas in this neighbourhood is easy. Despite the fact that there is a narrow selection of entertainment venues, there are many people around most of the time, and with the bars in nearby neighbourhoods, it is very easy to find a place to grab a drink because they are generally located very close by. Casa Loma is quiet, as the streets tend to be reasonably tranquil, however noise can be bothersome near the railway line. The greenery in this part of Toronto is quite prominent; it is very easy to access green spaces from most locations in the neighbourhood since there are approximately 10 of them nearby for residents to enjoy. Residents will also find that there are numerous tree-lined streets.

Housing

Large apartment buildings are the predominant housing type, representing about one third of dwellings in Casa Loma, and the remaining homes are mainly small apartment buildings, single detached homes, and townhouses. This neighbourhood also has a good variety of housing size options; it is quite easy to find homes ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. The split between renters and homeowners is about even. About half of homes in this part of Toronto were constructed pre-1960, while most of the remaining buildings were built in the 1960s and the 2000s.
