Situated within the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area, Langstaff is a neighbourhood within Richmond Hill, Ontario.


Regardless of the mode of transportation, it is quite straightforward to get around in Langstaff. Many of the houses for sale in this part of the town are located in places that are conducive to walking; many day-to-day needs are easy to meet without having to use a car. On the other hand, it is at times difficult to get around by bike in Langstaff since riding is made strenuous by the often sloping topography, and the bicycling network is fairly poor. Residents can depend on public transit to navigate this part of the town by reason of various nearby rapid transit stations with access to the purple | VIVA PURPLE, orange | VIVA ORANGE and blue | VIVA BLUE, and about 20 nearby bus lines. Commuting by car is also very convenient in Langstaff. It is easy to come across a place to park, and the majority of real estate listings are a short car ride from the closest highway, such as Highway 407.


Both general and specialty grocery stores are typically accessible within a rather short walk from most houses for sale in Langstaff. In addition, Langstaff is a good place in which to go out to eat or go to a cafe. With regards to education, primary schools and daycares are very easy to reach on foot from most homes for sale in this area. However, high schools are not particularly plentiful and accordingly may require a long walk to get to.


Home buyers who prefer a relaxed atmosphere will enjoy Langstaff. Parks are especially well-situated and there are a few of them nearby for residents to unwind in, making it easy to get to them. This neighbourhood is reasonably quiet overall, as noise from the streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue - although that is not the case around Highway 407 or the railway line.


Langstaff experienced its biggest construction boom following the year 2000, so most of the available homes are from this era. Around half of dwellings are large apartment buildings, making it easy to find apartments in this part of the town, while the rest are mainly single detached homes and townhouses. Homeowners occupy about 80% of the properties in Langstaff and 20% are occupied by renters. This part of Richmond Hill has a good selection of housing sizes, ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms.
