A vehicle is almost always needed in this part of the city to access the nearest supermarket. In terms of education, there are only a very small number of primary schools in this neighbourhood and therefore they can be a very long walk away. Moreover, Corkery does not have any high schools.

Corkery is fairly good for those who need a quiet atmosphere, as there are generally low levels of noise from traffic - although that is not the case close to Highway 7 or Highway 417. Reaching green spaces, including Rick Lytle Park, is very hard from most locations within the neighbourhood since they are spread out sporadically. Despite that, there are a few parks nearby for residents to enjoy.
