Civic Hospital-Central Park is a neighbourhood in Ottawa, Ontario.


Regardless of the means of transportation, it is quite easy to move around in Civic Hospital-Central Park. The reasonably good public transit access makes transit a viable option for many people as a result of about 10 nearby bus lines. This part of Ottawa is also quite conducive to walking; many daily needs can be carried out without having to resort to a vehicle. Travelling by bicycle is easy in this area because Civic Hospital-Central Park has a very good cycling infrastructure.


It is a reasonably short walk to get to both primary and secondary schools from most houses for sale in this neighbourhood. At the elementary level, there are both public and private schools. However, daycares are not especially abundant and consequently tend to require a long walk to get to. As far as food is concerned, a grocery store is generally reachable within a rather short walk from anywhere in Civic Hospital-Central Park. Furthermore, those who are fond of dining in restaurants or cafes will have a fair number of choices in this neighbourhood, for example along Carling Avenue.


Civic Hospital-Central Park is a reasonably good neighbourhood to buy a home in for those who prefer a calm environment. It is easy to access green spaces since there are a few of them nearby for residents to unwind in. Most areas in this part of Ottawa are quiet, as there are usually low levels of noise from traffic - although that is not the case near Highway 417 or the railway line.


In Civic Hospital-Central Park, roughly one third of buildings are single detached homes, and the remainder are mainly large apartment buildings and townhouses. This neighbourhood is primarily composed of two bedroom and three bedroom homes. About two thirds of the units in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners whereas the remainder are rented. Roughly 30% of properties in this neighbourhood were built pre-1960, while many of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1960s and the 1990s.
