The neighbourhood of East Credit is part of the city of Mississauga, Ontario, which is located in the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area.

Transportation

East Credit is a fairly convenient part of Mississauga for pedestrians; most day-to-day needs are easy to meet by walking. Moving around by bicycle is also convenient in East Credit because the cycling infrastructure is quite comprehensive. The car is very often the favoured transportation option in this neighbourhood. Parking is easy, and it is a reasonably short drive to the nearest highway, such as Highway 401, from any location in East Credit. On the other hand, the public transit network in this part of the city is somewhat poor. Nevertheless, the neighbourhood is linked by approximately 10 bus lines, and the closest bus stop is usually very close.

Services

The nearest grocery store in this neighbourhood is typically only a reasonably short walk away. In addition, those who like to dine in restaurants will have a fair number of choices, and a limited variety of cafes is available as well. In terms of education, families will find that no matter where their house is located in this neighbourhood, schools and daycares are nearby.

Character

East Credit offers a relaxed environment and will appeal to those who enjoy spending time outdoors. Most areas in this part of Mississauga are reasonably quiet, as there are usually low levels of noise from traffic - however noise can be bothersome near the railway line, Highway 401 or Highway 403. Lastly, there are about 40 green spaces close by for residents to explore, like Hyde's Mill Hollow and River Grove, resulting in them being very easy to access from most locations in the neighbourhood.

Housing

In East Credit, about 55% of buildings are single detached homes, while townhouses make up most of the remaining housing stock. This area is primarily composed of three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy about 85% of the units in East Credit whereas the rest are rented. A majority of the housing growth in this part of Mississauga happened in the 1990s.
