Transportation

The car is usually the favoured approach to navigate Legacy. It is especially convenient to park, and nearby highways, such as Highway 407, are very easy to reach from any location in Legacy. However, public transit users may experience few choices in this part of the city due to the low service level. Nonetheless, property owners have access to a few bus lines, and it is very convenient to find a nearby bus stop from most residences. Travelling by bicycle is challenging in this part of Markham since riding a bike is made strenuous by the often hilly terrain, and the cycling infrastructure is not very extensive. Walking is also not very practical for residents in Legacy because few daily errands can be run on foot.

Services

It is a rather short walk to access primary schools and daycares from anywhere in Legacy. On the other hand, there are no high schools in Legacy. Regarding eating, the nearest grocery store in this area is generally only a rather short walk away. There are also a few choices for those who value close by restaurants.

Character

Legacy offers a calm atmosphere and will appeal to home buyers who enjoy spending time outdoors. There are a few public green spaces nearby for residents to check out and they are very well-distributed, making them very easy to reach. Most areas in this part of the city are reasonably quiet, as the streets are quite calm - although there are still several noisier sections, especially near Highway 407.

Housing

In Legacy, almost all dwellings are single detached homes, while duplexes are also present in the housing stock. Most of the housing growth in this neighbourhood took place in the 1990s. This part of Markham is especially good for those looking for four or more bedroom homes. Nearly all of the units in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners and renters occupy the remainder.
