Located within the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area, Legacy is a neighbourhood within Markham, Ontario.


Legacy is especially car friendly. Coming across a parking spot is easy, and many real estate listings are a short drive from the closest highway, such as Highway 407. In contrast, getting around by public transit is challenging in this part of the city. Nonetheless, residents benefit from a few bus lines, and the nearest bus stop is generally just around the corner. Many of the homes for sale in this neighbourhood are located in areas that are not very well-suited for walking since few day-to-day errands can be run without having to use a vehicle. Legacy is also not very appropriate for biking because the bicycling network is fairly poor, and there is a considerable amount of elevation changes.


Families will appreciate the proximity to primary schools and daycares, which are within walking distance from the majority of houses for sale in Legacy. However, there are no high schools in Legacy. Concerning eating, it is frequently possible for house buyers in this neighbourhood to do their groceries on foot. Residents of Legacy are served by a few restaurants as well.


The character of Legacy is exemplified by its relaxed environment. This neighbourhood is reasonably quiet overall, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour - although that is not the case around Highway 407. Lastly, parks are very easy to get to since there are a few of them close by for residents to discover.


The large percentage of single detached homes in the housing stock of Legacy is an important part of its character. Most of the housing growth in this area occurred in the 1990s. This part of the city offers mainly three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes. Roughly all of the dwellings in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners whereas the remainder are rented.
