Travelling by car is especially convenient in Forest Heights. Most real estate listings are a reasonably short drive from the closest highway, such as Highway 7, and parking is easy. However, the public transit network in Forest Heights is not very practical. Thankfully, there are a few bus lines passing through the community, and bus stops are ordinarily nearby. This area is not very suitable for walking because running common errands is sometimes challenging on foot. In contrast, cycling is easy in Forest Heights because there are a fair number of bike lanes.

It is convenient to get to the closest supermarket on foot in this part of the city. There are also a limited number of opportunities for those who care about restaurants within walking distance. However, high schools are not especially abundant and thus may require a rather long walk to get to.

This part of Kitchener is quiet, as the streets are generally reasonably tranquil - however noise can be bothersome closer to Highway 7. Finally, it is easy to get to public green spaces from a large number of locations in the community, since there are approximately 20 of them close by for residents to relax in, such as Sandrock Greenway and Forest Heights Community Trail.
