The public transit network in this neighbourhood is reasonably good. Residents can depend on the Etobicoke North with access to the Kitchener. There is Renforth Station East Platform 7 and Renforth Station West Platform 1 on the Meadowvale Express. Residents are served by around 30 bus lines, and it is very convenient to reach a nearby bus stop from most homes. In contrast, biking is challenging in this part of the city as there are a good number of hills, and the cycling network is not very extensive. Thankfully, riding a bike is more feasible in some sectors than others. Traveling on foot in West Humber is not very popular, although meeting daily needs is convenient without a car. However, the best method to get around in this neighbourhood is usually a car. The street layout is reasonably amenable to cars, and it is a very short drive to the nearest highway, such as Highway 409, from anywhere in this part of Toronto.

The nearest grocery store in West Humber is generally only a rather long trip away. Furthermore, there is typically a restaurant or cafe just around the corner. It is also a rather short trip to a good selection of clothing stores. With regards to education, daycares and primary schools are easy to get to by foot from most properties for sale in this neighbourhood. In contrast, families may find it challenging to reach high schools by foot.

There is a great variety of green spaces in West Humber. To be more specific, reaching parks, such as Woodbine Racetrack and Humber Arboretum, is very easy from the majority of locations within the neighbourhood since there are over 50 of them close by for residents to unwind in. At the same time, there are few tree-lined streets. This part of the city is an excellent area for those who aren't bothered by a little noise, as during busier hours of the day, traffic can occasionally be loud.

About 40% of properties in West Humber were constructed pre-1960, while the majority of the remaining buildings were built in the 1960s and the 1990s. Single detached homes are the main housing type, representing many dwellings in this area, but duplexes are also present in the housing stock.
