The neighbourhood of River Flats can be found in the city of Cambridge, Ontario, which is situated in the Kitchener - Cambridge - Waterloo metropolitan area.

Transportation

Cars are an excellent transportation option in River Flats. It is especially convenient to park, and it is a short car ride to the closest highway, such as Highway 401, from anywhere in this area. On the other hand, public transit users may find few choices in River Flats due to the infrequent service. Nonetheless, the neighbourhood is linked by a few bus lines, and the nearest bus stop is usually a short walk away. River Flats is not very conducive to those who travel by foot as meeting daily needs is sometimes difficult. Bicycling is also difficult in this area as there is a considerable amount of hills, and the cycling infrastructure is not very well-developed.

Services

Parents and their kids will appreciate the proximity to daycares, which are within walking distance from the majority of houses for sale in River Flats. In contrast, River Flats does not have any primary schools or high schools. When it comes to food, some, but not all, home buyers in this part of the city will live within walking distance of the closest grocery store.

Character

There is a fairly good selection of green spaces in River Flats. Although this area does not contain any parks, parks are especially well-spread out in nearby neighbourhoods, making them easy to access from most locations in River Flats. Since there are very few pedestrians, this neighbourhood remains relatively serene.

Housing

In River Flats, roughly 40% of dwellings are single detached homes, and the rest of the properties are mainly small apartment buildings and townhouses. This neighbourhood offers mainly two bedroom and three bedroom homes. The population residing in this area is evenly split between renters and owners. About half of properties in this part of Cambridge were constructed prior to the 1960s, while most of the remaining buildings were built in the 1960s and the 1980s.
