The neighbourhood of Renfrew is part of the city of Vancouver, British Columbia, which is situated in the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area.


Renfrew offers home buyers the choice between a diversity of means of transportation. The public transit system in Renfrew is very good. More precisely, it is convenient to find a nearby rapid transit station, such as Nanaimo Station, Renfew Station and Rupert Station on the Millennium Skytrain and Expo Skytrain, from most homes in the neighbourhood. Residents are served by a few bus lines, and the nearest bus stop is typically just around the corner. Travelling on foot is also reasonably practical for home buyers in this area; carrying out day-to-day needs is convenient, and plenty of businesses are close by. Cycling is convenient in Renfrew since Renfrew features a very good bicycling infrastructure.


It is very easy to get to both a general and a specialty grocery store by walking from anywhere in this part of Vancouver. Moreover, Renfrew is a good place in which to go out to eat, for example on Boundary Road, and home buyers are served by a few cafes as well. With respect to education, schools and daycares are very easy to reach on foot from most properties for sale in Renfrew.


The character of Renfrew is exemplified by its relaxed ambience. This neighbourhood is quiet overall, as noise from the streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue - although that is not the case close to Trans-Canada Highway or the railway line. Finally, there are a few parks close by for residents to check out, including Renfrew Ravine Park and Renfrew Community Park, and they are very well-spread out, making it very easy to reach them.


Duplexes are the main housing type, representing most dwellings in Renfrew, but small apartment buildings and single detached homes are also present in the housing stock. About one quarter of homes in this area were constructed in the 1960s and 1970s, while the majority of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 1980s. This neighbourhood also has a good variety of unit sizes; properties range from lofts to four or more bedrooms. Around 60% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home while the rest are renters.
