The neighbourhood of Downtown Peninsula can be found in the city of Vancouver, British Columbia, which is located in the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area.


This area is an excellent part of Vancouver with regards to travelling without a car. This neighbourhood features an excellent public transit system. It is easy to reach a nearby rapid transit station, such as Vancouver City Centre Station Platform 2, Stadium - Chinatown Station and Main Street - Science World Station on the Expo Skytrain and Canada Line Skytrain, from the bulk of residences in the neighbourhood. Train stations, such as the Waterfront Station with access to the Wce | West Coast Express, are not especially far away from the majority of residences in the neighbourhood. House owners benefit from around 40 bus lines, and the closest bus stop is usually very close. This part of Vancouver is also especially convenient for walking; all common errands can be run on foot, and many businesses are very nearby. This neighbourhood is quite bike-friendly because Downtown Peninsula has a very good bicycling infrastructure.


Families will value that no matter where their house is located in this part of Vancouver, daycares and schools are close by. Regarding food, it is usually feasible for house buyers in this area to purchase general and specialty groceries by walking. Over 50 grocery stores are located close by, and the best choice can be found on streets such as Pender Street. In addition, there are over 700 restaurants and over 50 cafes to enjoy in this neighbourhood. A great choice of clothing stores is also located within a very short walking distance.


Downtown Peninsula is a great neighbourhood for those who enjoy both indoor and outdoor activities. This area has a very large number of streets for those looking for a dynamic vibe. There is a great variety of entertainment venues, there are often a very large number of people around, and places to go out at night are well-spread throughout the neighbourhood. Robson Street is among the most active streets in this part of Vancouver. The majority of locations within the neighbourhood have fairly good access to parks, including English Bay Beach Park, since reaching one is very easy from numerous properties for sale and there are approximately 30 parks close by for residents to visit.


About two thirds of the units in the neighbourhood are occupied by renters and one third are occupied by owners. The sizeable proportion of large apartment buildings in the housing stock of this neighbourhood is an important part of its character. This part of the city did not experience a single construction boom; the construction of new buildings in Downtown Peninsula was spread throughout several decades in the twentieth and twenty-first century.
