The neighbourhood of Sea Island is part of the city of Richmond, British Columbia, which is located in the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area.


The favoured transportation option in Sea Island is usually driving. Parking is generally easy. However, the public transit service in this neighbourhood is not very frequent. Nevertheless, house owners profit from a multitude of rapid transit stations with access to the Canada Line Skytrain. There are a few bus lines traversing the neighbourhood, and bus stops are typically close by. Many of the houses for sale in this neighbourhood are located in places that are not very conducive to walking because running day-to-day errands is at times difficult. Cycling is also challenging in Sea Island as there are quite a few elevation changes, and the bicycling infrastructure is not very extensive.


A fraction of home buyers in Sea Island may be able to travel to the closest grocery store on foot, while others will have to turn to a vehicle. Residents are served by around 40 restaurants and coffee shops as well. As far as education is concerned, in this neighbourhood, parents and their children will often be able to get to daycares by walking. On the other hand, there are only a limited number of primary schools in Sea Island and thus they can be a rather long walk away. Moreover, Sea Island does not have any high schools.


There are a lot of green spaces to enjoy in Sea Island. There are over 100 parks close by for residents to visit, making them very easy to get to from a large number of locations in Sea Island. This area is relatively calm, thanks to the presence of very few people out and about on the streets.


In Sea Island, around 80% of dwellings are single detached homes, while duplexes make up most of the remaining housing stock. This neighbourhood is primarily composed of four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy roughly 85% of the properties in Sea Island and 15% are occupied by renters. This area experienced its main construction boom before the 1960s, so most of the available homes are from this time period.
