Westridge is a neighbourhood within Burnaby, British Columbia, which is located in the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area.

Transportation

Westridge will draw house buyers that use various means of transportation. Travelling by car is easy in this part of Burnaby. It is easy to access a place to park. The transit system in Westridge is also good as a result of a few nearby bus lines. This neighbourhood is not particularly suitable for pedestrians because few common errands can be run without a vehicle. In contrast, Westridge is appropriate for cycling because the bicycling infrastructure is fairly comprehensive.

Services

Families will appreciate that no matter where their property is situated in Westridge, daycares and primary schools are nearby. In contrast, parents and their children may find it challenging to reach high schools without the need for a vehicle. When it comes to food, a supermarket is generally reachable within a reasonably short distance from anywhere in Westridge. Moreover, this part of the city is a fairly good place in which to eat out, and there are also a few cafes in Westridge.

Character

A highlight of Westridge is its broad selection of green spaces. It is very easy to reach parks in the neighbourhood since there are about 20 of them close by for residents to relax in. This area is relatively quiet, since there are few pedestrians, although there can be more noise for those who are around the railway line or the airport (Vancouver / Burnaby (Terminal) Heliport).

Housing

In Westridge, around one third of dwellings are single detached homes, whereas the rest are mainly small apartment buildings and duplexes. About one quarter of properties in this part of Burnaby were built in the 1960s and 1970s, while the majority of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1980s. This neighbourhood offers mainly two bedroom and four or more bedroom homes. Around 60% of the dwellings in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners and 40% are rented.
