Riverside East

The neighbourhood of Riverside East is part of the municipality of District of North Vancouver, British Columbia, which is situated in the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area.

Transportation

The best transportation option in this part of District of North Vancouver is very often a car. It is very easy to access a parking spot, and it is a rather short drive to the nearest highway from anywhere in Riverside East. However, commuting by transit can be challenging in Riverside East due to the service's low frequency. Thankfully, there are a few bus lines traversing the neighbourhood. Riverside East is bicycling-friendly. Many of the homes for sale in this part of the municipality are located in areas that are not very well-suited for people who prefer to travel on foot because most daily needs are difficult to carry out without a car.

Services

It is a short stroll to reach daycares from most properties for sale in Riverside East. On the other hand, there are only a very small number of high schools in this part of the municipality and accordingly they can be a very long distance away. Additionally, Riverside East does not have any primary schools. With respect to food, it is very difficult to access the nearest grocery store by foot from any location in this area. A limited selection of restaurants and coffee shops is available as well.

Character

Riverside East offers a relaxed ambience and will appeal to those who enjoy spending time outdoors. Most areas in this neighbourhood are very quiet, as there tend to be low levels of noise from traffic. Lastly, there are around 20 public green spaces close by for residents to check out, such as McCartney Creek Park and Lillooet Park, and they are very well-spread out, making it easy to reach them from the majority of locations within Riverside East.

Housing

In Riverside East, around 80% of dwellings are single detached homes, while duplexes make up most of the remaining housing stock. This area is primarily composed of three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes. Nearly 90% of the units in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners whereas renters occupy the remainder. This area experienced its biggest building boom between 1960 and 1980, so most of the available housing is from this time period.
