Carisbrooke

The neighbourhood of Carisbrooke is part of the municipality of District of North Vancouver, British Columbia, which is located in the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area.

Transportation

Carisbrooke is fairly suitable for pedestrians; many daily errands can be run without the use of a vehicle. Carisbrooke is also moderately appropriate for cycling. Carisbrooke is not very transit friendly. Thankfully, property owners have access to a few bus lines, and bus stops are ordinarily around the corner. However, driving is a very good transportation option in Carisbrooke. Parking is quite easy, and it is a short car ride to the nearest highway from anywhere in this part of the municipality.

Services

It is a short trip to access schools and daycares from any location in this part of District of North Vancouver. With respect to food, house buyers in Carisbrooke will welcome that a grocery store is always only a short stroll away. Additionally, this area is a fairly good place in which to go out to eat or go to a cafe, for example along Lonsdale Avenue. It is also easy to access a selection of clothing stores on foot.

Character

The character of Carisbrooke is exemplified by its slower-paced ambience. Green spaces, like Princess Park and St Albans Park, are especially well-distributed and there are about 30 of them nearby for residents to unwind in, resulting in them being very easy to reach from a large number of locations in the neighbourhood. This part of District of North Vancouver is also very quiet, as there are low levels of noise from traffic.

Housing

About 60% of dwellings are single detached homes, making it easy to find detached homes in Carisbrooke, and the rest are mainly duplexes. About 45% of properties in this area were constructed in the 1960s and 1970s, while many of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1980s. This neighbourhood also has a variety of housing size options; there is a higher proportion of four or more bedroom homes in this part of District of North Vancouver. About three quarters of the dwellings in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners and the remainder are rented.
