Part of the Greater Edmonton metropolitan area, Bearspaw is a neighbourhood within Edmonton, Alberta.

Transportation

This part of the city is very car friendly. It is a rather short car ride to the nearest highway from any home in Bearspaw, and finding a place to park is quite easy. However, travelling by public transit is at times challenging in this part of Edmonton. Thankfully, residents benefit from a few bus lines, and it is very easy to get to a nearby bus stop from most homes. This neighbourhood is not particularly convenient for walking as few common errands can be run without having to use a car. On the other hand, the bike is a good mode of transportation in Bearspaw since there are a limited number of elevation changes, and the bicycling network is reasonably good.

Services

Families will find that wherever their home is situated in this part of the city, daycares and primary schools are nearby. In contrast, there are no high schools in Bearspaw. With regards to food, in all but a few cases, a vehicle is required in this part of the city to reach the nearest supermarket. Nonetheless, it is generally a rather short distance to the closest pharmacy, which can supply some basic food items.

Character

The character of Bearspaw is exemplified by its calm ambience. Public green spaces, including Blackmud Creek Park and Tomas Opalinski Park, are very well-situated and there are a few of them close by for residents to relax in, making them very easy to access. This area is also very quiet, as the streets are usually very calm.
