Lakeridge

The neighbourhood of Lakeridge can be found in the city of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, which is situated in the Greater Saskatoon metropolitan area.

Transportation

Driving is very often the favoured method of transportation in this area. It is a short drive to the closest highway from any home in this part of Saskatoon, and it is easy to find a parking spot. In contrast, the public transit service in this part of the city is not very frequent. Thankfully, there are a few bus lines, and most homes are very close to a bus stop. This area is bike-friendly since it is a flat ride to most destinations, and there are a fair number of bike lanes. Lakeridge is not particularly convenient for pedestrians because few daily errands can be run without a vehicle.

Services

A grocery store is ordinarily reachable within a rather short distance from any location in this part of Saskatoon. Likewise, this neighbourhood is a good place in which to eat out, and house buyers can enjoy a few cafes as well. Regarding education, primary schools and daycares are especially convenient to reach as a pedestrian from any location in Lakeridge. In contrast, there are only a very small number of high schools and accordingly they can be a very long walk away.

Character

The character of Lakeridge is exemplified by its slower-paced environment. Most areas in this neighbourhood are especially quiet, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour. Lastly, green spaces, like Lakewood Park and Hyde Park, are very well-distributed and there are around 20 of them close by for residents to discover, making them easy to access.

Housing

Lakeridge experienced its biggest building boom between 1980 and 1990, so most of the available housing stock is from this time period. In this area, almost all dwellings are single detached homes, while duplexes are also present in the housing stock. Homeowners occupy roughly 95% of the units in the neighbourhood while the rest are rented. This area is primarily composed of three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes.
