King George

King George is a neighbourhood within Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, which is situated in the Greater Saskatoon metropolitan area.

Transportation

This neighbourhood is suitable for those who get around by foot; most day-to-day needs are convenient to carry out without a vehicle, and various businesses are rather close by. King George will also draw physically active people since it is moderately suited for biking. More specifically, riding is facilitated by the generally flat terrain, and the cycling network is rather well-developed. Travelling by car is convenient in King George. The majority of houses for sale are a reasonably short car ride from the closest highway, and it is easy to park. In contrast, King George is not an especially pleasant part of Saskatoon for travelling by public transit. Nevertheless, there are around 10 bus lines crossing the neighbourhood, and bus stops are not very far from most properties.

Services

It is very convenient to reach the closest supermarket without a car in King George. Moreover, there is generally a restaurant or cafe just around the corner. Single detached homes are the most common housing type, representing the majority of dwellings in King George, whereas the rest are mainly duplexes. This neighbourhood has a good variety of unit sizes, ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. About 70% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home while renters make up the remainder. Most homes in this part of the city were constructed before the 1960s, during its biggest construction boom.
