Caswell Hill is a neighbourhood within Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, which is located in the Greater Saskatoon metropolitan area.

Transportation

Caswell Hill will appeal to people who want to reside in a walkable community as it is suitable for pedestrians; many day-to-day needs are convenient to meet without a car, and numerous businesses are reasonably close by. Physically active property owners will also welcome the rather bicycling-friendly character of this neighbourhood. More precisely, there are a good number of bike lanes. Commuting by transit can be at times difficult in this neighbourhood due to the infrequent service. Nevertheless, the neighbourhood is connected by around 30 bus lines, and bus stops are generally very close by. However, the favoured approach to get around in Caswell Hill is often driving. Coming across a place to park is easy, and many real estate listings are a very short car ride from the nearest highway.

Services

It is a short trip to reach schools and daycares from anywhere in Caswell Hill. When it comes to eating, it is straightforward to reach the closest supermarket without a vehicle in this part of Saskatoon. Furthermore, with 100-odd restaurants and cafes in Caswell Hill, there is generally a spot to get some food or drink just around the corner, for example on H Avenue. It is also a short trip to a very good variety of clothing stores.

Character

Caswell Hill has a character that caters to a fairly diverse group of people. Although this neighbourhood is not known for its vibrancy, places to go out at night are well-spread throughout the area. Caswell Hill is very quiet overall, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour. Green spaces, such as Ashworth Holmes Park and Henry Kelsey Park, are especially well-spread out and there are around 10 of them nearby for residents to unwind in, making it easy to get to them.

Housing

In Caswell Hill, many dwellings are single detached homes, while the rest are mainly small apartment buildings. This part of the city experienced its main construction boom prior to the 1960s, so most of the available properties are from this time period. This area is primarily composed of three bedroom and two bedroom homes. Around 60% of the units in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners and 40% are occupied by renters.
