South Windsor

The neighbourhood of South Windsor is part of the city of Windsor, Ontario, which is situated in the Greater Windsor metropolitan area.

Transportation

Getting around by car is very convenient in South Windsor. It is a short drive to the closest highway, such as Highway 401, from any location in this part of the city, and it is very easy to find a parking spot. In contrast, the public transit network in South Windsor is fairly poor. Nonetheless, there are a few bus lines passing through the neighbourhood, and bus stops are not very far from most residences. Walking in South Windsor is not very popular, although many day-to-day errands can be run without needing to resort to a vehicle.

Services

It is easy to get to the closest grocery store by walking from any home in South Windsor. Residents of South Windsor benefit from about 20 restaurants as well. With respect to education, parents and their children will appreciate that wherever their property is located in this area, schools and daycares are close by.

Character

South Windsor offers a slower-paced environment and will appeal to those who enjoy spending time in green spaces. This neighbourhood is quiet, as the streets tend to be reasonably calm - however noise can be problematic near E.C. Row Expressway, Highway 401 or the railway line. Lastly, parks, such as Oakwood Park and Central Park, are very well-situated and there are approximately 10 of them nearby for residents to unwind in, which results in them being easy to access from a lot of locations in the neighbourhood.
