Roseland

The neighbourhood of Roseland is part of the city of Windsor, Ontario, which is situated in the Greater Windsor metropolitan area.

Transportation

Roseland is especially car friendly. Most houses for sale are a short car ride from the nearest highway, such as Dougall Parkway, and it is very easy to park. On the other hand, commuting by public transit is difficult in this part of Windsor. Thankfully, house owners benefit from a few bus lines, and the nearest bus stop is typically very close. It is challenging for pedestrians to move around in Roseland because running common errands is sometimes difficult.

Services

In this neighbourhood, parents and their children will usually be able to get to daycares and primary schools by walking. In contrast, there are only a few high schools and thus they can be an extended walk away. Regarding eating, reaching the closest supermarket on foot is possible for some, but not all, property owners in this part of Windsor. A small number of restaurants and cafes are available as well.

Character

The character of Roseland is exemplified by its slower-paced ambience. This part of Windsor is quiet overall, as there tend to be low levels of noise from traffic - although there are still several noisier sections, especially near the railway line, Highway 401 or Dougall Parkway. Finally, many locations in the neighbourhood have fairly good access to green spaces, like Captain Wilson Park, since there are approximately 20 of them nearby for residents to unwind in.

Housing

Homeowners occupy roughly 90% of the properties in the neighbourhood and the rest are rented. Single detached homes are the most common housing type, representing the vast majority of dwellings in this area, whereas the rest are mainly townhouses. About one third of properties in this neighbourhood were constructed between 1990 and 2000, while most of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1960s. This neighbourhood offers mainly three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes.
