Located within the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area, Uplands is a neighbourhood within Vaughan, Ontario.

Transportation

Owing to 3 rapid transit stations (Bathurst / Atkinson, Yonge / Centre and Yonge / Royal Orchard) on the orange | VIVA ORANGE and blue | VIVA BLUE, and a few nearby bus lines, this area is transit friendly. On the other hand, Uplands is not particularly conducive to cycling because there are a limited number of bike lanes, and there is a considerable amount of slopes. Thankfully, a few bicycling-friendly areas exist. There aren't many pedestrians out on the streets of Uplands, even though many common errands can be run without having to use a vehicle. However, the best way to get around in Uplands is usually driving. Parking is generally easy, and most real estate listings are a short car ride from the closest highway, such as Highway 407.

Services

It is a reasonably short walk to access schools and daycares from any location in Uplands. Concerning eating, property owners in this neighbourhood often need a vehicle to travel to the nearest grocery store. Nonetheless, getting to the closest pharmacy and consequently some staple foods is usually convenient. Uplands is a good place in which to eat out, and home buyers benefit from a few cafes as well.

Character

Uplands is a fairly good neighbourhood to buy a home in for those who prefer a calm environment. This part of Vaughan is reasonably quiet overall, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour - although that is not the case around Highway 407. Finally, there are a few parks nearby for residents to relax in and they are especially well-distributed, which makes them easy to reach.

The housing stock of Uplands is composed primarily of single detached homes and townhouses. Around 40% of properties in this neighbourhood were built between 1980 and 1990, while many of the remaining buildings were built in the 1990s and the 2000s. Although this part of Vaughan is particularly good for those looking for four or more bedroom homes. Nearly 95% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home and 5% are renters.
