This area affords home buyers the choice between several methods of transportation. With approximately 10 nearby bus lines, homeowners can count on public transit to move around in this neighbourhood. Physically active home buyers will also appreciate the quite walk-friendly nature of this neighbourhood; carrying out daily needs is easy on foot. Despite the fact that a few enjoyable pockets for cycling exist, this part of the city is not especially bicycling-friendly as the cycling network is not particularly well-developed, and there is a significant amount of elevation changes.


Daycares and schools are convenient to get to on foot from most houses for sale in this neighbourhood. As far as eating is concerned, a supermarket is usually reachable within a rather short walk from any home in this area. Likewise, those who like to eat in restaurants will have a good number of opportunities, and there are also about 10 cafes in Don Mills.


Don Mills offers a relaxed ambience and will appeal to home buyers who enjoy spending time outdoors. This area is quiet, as there are low levels of noise from traffic - although that is not the case closer to the railway line, Don Valley Parkway or Highway 401. Lastly, there is a large amount of greenery in this part of the city; there are approximately 20 green spaces nearby for residents to check out, like Bond Park and Donalda Club, and they are very well-located, which makes them very easy to access. Furthermore, residents will find that a lot of tree-lined streets are present.


About two thirds of the dwellings in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners while the remainder are rented. Single detached homes are the most common housing type, representing around one third of buildings in this area, and the rest of the houses are mainly large apartment buildings, small apartment buildings, and townhouses. Roughly 45% of properties in this neighbourhood were built before the 1960s, while many of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1960s and the 1980s. This neighbourhood has a good selection of housing sizes, ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms.
