Situated within the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area, Jefferson is a neighbourhood in Richmond Hill, Ontario.

Transportation

Jefferson is a fairly good part of Richmond Hill for getting around by car. It is very easy to park. On the other hand, the public transit network in this area is rather poor. Nonetheless, property owners can rely on Yonge / 19th-Gamble and Yonge / Jefferson Sdrd with access to the blue | VIVA BLUE. The neighbourhood is connected by a few bus lines, and it is very convenient to find a nearby bus stop from most residences. Jefferson is not especially bike-friendly as bicycling is rendered strenuous by the often hilly topography, and the cycling infrastructure is not especially comprehensive. A majority of the houses for sale in this neighbourhood are located in areas that are also not very well-suited for walking as few daily errands can be run on foot.

Services

Some, but not all, house buyers in Jefferson will live within walking distance of the nearest supermarket. A limited number of restaurants and cafes can be found as well. Regarding education, it is a reasonably short walk to access primary schools from most homes for sale in this neighbourhood. On the other hand, there are no high schools in Jefferson.

Character

Home buyers who prefer a calm atmosphere will enjoy Jefferson. Parks are especially well-distributed and there are a few of them nearby for residents to unwind in, which makes it easy to get to them. This part of the town is also very good for those who need a quiet atmosphere, as the streets are very peaceful.

Nearly 95% of the dwellings in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners and 5% are occupied by renters. Single detached homes and townhouses are the predominant housing type in this area. This neighbourhood experienced its main building boom after the year 2000, so most of the available properties are from this era. This part of Richmond Hill is primarily composed of three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes.
