Driving is a very good transportation option in this part of Ottawa. It is very convenient to park. However, Blackburn Hamlet is not particularly transit friendly. Nonetheless, the neighbourhood is linked by a few bus lines, and it is very easy to get to a nearby bus stop from most residences. Blackburn Hamlet is reasonably suited for bicycling because there are many bike lanes. This neighbourhood is not very conducive to walking since meeting day-to-day needs is inconvenient.


It is convenient to get to the nearest grocery store by walking from any home in Blackburn Hamlet. A limited number of restaurants and cafes can be found as well. When it comes to education, daycares and schools are very easy to get to on foot from anywhere in Blackburn Hamlet.


The character of Blackburn Hamlet is exemplified by its relaxed atmosphere. This part of the city is very quiet overall, as there are generally low levels of noise from traffic.
