Part of the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area, Victoria Square is a neighbourhood within Markham, Ontario.


Victoria Square is very car friendly. It is very easy to find a parking spot, and it is a rather short drive to the closest highway, such as Highway 404, from any home in this area. In contrast, the public transit system in Victoria Square is not very convenient. Nonetheless, there are a few bus lines crossing the neighbourhood, and bus stops are not very far from most residences. Victoria Square is not very cycling-friendly as the bicycling network is not very well-developed, and there are a fair number of elevation changes. It is also challenging for people walking to move around in Victoria Square because very few common errands can be run on foot.


Primary schools are convenient to walk to from anywhere in this neighbourhood. On the other hand, Victoria Square does not contain any high schools. When it comes to eating, purchasing one's groceries very often necessitates the use of a car in this part of the city. There are a few opportunities for those who care about close by restaurants.


The character of Victoria Square is exemplified by its calm environment. This neighbourhood is quiet, as there tend to be low levels of noise from traffic - however noise can be bothersome closer to Highway 404. Finally, there are a few public green spaces nearby for residents to check out, making it easy to get to them.


In Victoria Square, around 60% of dwellings are townhouses, but single detached homes are also present in the housing stock. This neighbourhood is primarily composed of three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes. Around 90% of the properties in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners while the rest are rented. Most of the housing growth in this part of the city has happened after the year 2000.
