Situated within the Greater Toronto metropolitan area, Middlefield is a neighbourhood in Markham, Ontario.


This neighbourhood is convenient for those who travel by foot, although common errands are sometimes difficult to run without having to resort to a vehicle. However, the bicycle is a rather limited mode of transportation in Middlefield because there are a good number of elevation changes to challenge cyclists, and the cycling network is not very well-developed. Travelling by car is very convenient in this area. It is a reasonably short drive to the nearest highway, such as Highway 407, from any home in Middlefield, and it is easy to park. However, the public transit network in this neighbourhood is not especially practical. Thankfully, there are around 10 bus lines passing through the neighbourhood, and bus stops are not very far away from most properties.

Besides public schools, there are private elementary and high schools. However, there are only a limited number of daycares and therefore they can be an extended walk away.


Middlefield offers a calm atmosphere and will appeal to those who enjoy spending time outdoors. There are a few parks close by for residents to check out, which makes them easy to access. This area is also reasonably good for those who enjoy quiet surroundings, as the streets tend to be reasonably calm - however noise can be bothersome around Highway 407 or the railway line.
