Commerce Valley is a neighbourhood within Markham, Ontario, which is situated in the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area.


The preferred way to navigate Commerce Valley is very often a car. The city block layout is reasonably amenable to cars, and it is very easy to park. Owing to many nearby rapid transit stations on the purple | VIVA PURPLE, and a few nearby bus lines, commuting by public transit is also easy in Commerce Valley. The bike is a rather poor method of transportation in Commerce Valley as bicycle riders encounter a considerable amount of hills, and the cycling infrastructure is not very comprehensive. Walking is also not very popular in this part of the city, although running day-to-day errands is easy.


Both general and specialty grocery stores are ordinarily accessible within a rather short walk from most properties for sale in Commerce Valley. Likewise, those who like to dine in restaurants will have a fair number of options, and a limited selection of cafes can be found as well. A decent choice of clothing stores is also available within a rather short walking distance. As far as education is concerned, parents and their schoolchildren will welcome that no matter where their house is located in Commerce Valley, schools and daycares are nearby.


Commerce Valley offers a vast selection of green spaces to enjoy. Public green spaces are easy to reach since there are a few of them nearby for residents to unwind in. Finally, this neighbourhood remains relatively quiet, thanks to the presence of few pedestrians; however noise levels are higher closer to Highway 407 or Highway 404.


The homes in this neighbourhood are very modern, because most of its dwellings were constructed following the year 2000, while the majority of the remaining buildings were built in the 1990s. The large percentage of large apartment buildings in the housing stock of this area is an important part of its character. Around three quarters of the dwellings in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners while the rest are rented. This part of the city is primarily composed of two bedroom and one bedroom homes.
