Catchet is very car friendly. It is convenient to park, and nearby highways, such as Highway 404, are moderately easy to access from any home in this area. In contrast, Catchet is not very transit friendly. Nevertheless, the neighbourhood is served by approximately 10 bus lines, and the nearest bus stop is generally very close by. Walking is not especially convenient for property owners in this part of Markham because few daily needs can be carried out without a car. In contrast, the bike is a fairly good method of transportation in Catchet.

Services

Families will welcome the proximity to schools and daycares, which are within walking distance from vast majority properties for sale in Catchet. In terms of eating, in most cases, a vehicle is required to buy groceries. Nonetheless, reaching the closest pharmacy and thus some basic food items is generally convenient. Catchet is a fairly good place in which to go out to eat, and a small selection of cafes can be found as well.

Character

People who prefer a relaxed atmosphere will enjoy Catchet. There are about 40 public green spaces close by for residents to unwind in, such as Ashton Meadows Park and Carlton Park, and they are especially well-distributed, which makes it easy to access them from most locations within the neighbourhood. This area is also fairly good for those who like a quiet atmosphere, as the streets are peaceful - although that is not the case around Highway 404 or the airport (Buttonville Municipal Airport).

Housing

The large proportion of single detached homes in the housing stock of Catchet is an important part of its character. The homes in this area are very modern, because about half of its dwellings were built between 1990 and 2000, while most of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 2000s. This part of Markham is primarily composed of three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy about 85% of the dwellings in Catchet while renters occupy the remainder.
