Summit

The neighbourhood of Summit can be found in the city of Hamilton, Ontario, which is located in the Greater Hamilton metropolitan area.

Transportation

This area is especially car friendly. It is very convenient to park, and most properties for sale are a very short drive from the nearest highway, such as Highway 403. This part of Hamilton is not very bicycling-friendly as there are very few bike lanes, and cyclists are faced with a significant amount of elevation changes. Summit is also not very well-suited for people who travel as pedestrians as carrying out day-to-day needs is challenging without a vehicle.

Services

There are no high schools and no primary schools in Summit. Furthermore, it can be very hard to reach daycares as a pedestrian. Concerning eating, house buyers in this neighbourhood generally need a car to travel to the closest supermarket.

Character

People who prefer a slower-paced ambience will enjoy Summit. Summit is reasonably quiet, as noise from streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue - although there are still several noisier sections, especially near Highway 403. Parks aren't well-distributed, which results in them being rather challenging to get to from numerous locations in the neighbourhood. Still, there are a few public green spaces close by for residents to discover.

Housing

The substantial percentage of single detached homes in the housing stock of Summit is an important part of its character. Around 30% of properties in this neighbourhood were built before the 1960s, while most of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1960s and the 1990s. This part of the city offers mainly four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes. Roughly 95% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home and 5% are renters.
