Transportation
Driving is an excellent means of transportation in East Mountain Area. It is very convenient to park. However, travelling by public transit is challenging in East Mountain Area. Thankfully, homeowners have access to a few bus lines, and bus stops are not very far-removed from most houses. This area is reasonably cycling-friendly as there are a limited number of slopes for cyclists to brave. East Mountain Area is not particularly well-suited for pedestrians because carrying out daily needs is occasionally challenging without a car.
Services
House buyers in East Mountain Area typically have to rely on a vehicle to buy groceries. Nonetheless, getting to the nearest pharmacy and thus some basic food items is generally convenient. A small number of restaurants and cafes are available as well. With respect to education, parents and their kids will appreciate that no matter where their house is located in East Mountain Area, primary schools are nearby. On the other hand, there are only a limited number of high schools and therefore they can be an extended distance away.
Character
East Mountain Area is a fairly good neighbourhood to buy a home in for those who prefer a slower-paced atmosphere. There are approximately 20 parks close by for residents to check out, including Saltfleet Conservation Area, making them easy to access. This neighbourhood is also quiet, as noise from the streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue.

Nearly 90% of the units in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners whereas the remainder are rented. The housing stock of this part of the city is composed predominantly of single detached homes and row houses. About one third of properties in this part of Hamilton were built in the 1960s and 1970s, while most of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 1980s. This neighbourhood also has a selection of housing size options - there is a higher proportion of three bedroom homes in this neighbourhood.
