Humberwood

Part of the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area, Humberwood is a neighbourhood within Toronto, Ontario.

Transportation

This part of Toronto presents property owners with several alternative methods of transportation. The car is very often the best way to navigate this area. Most houses for sale are a short car ride from the nearest highway, such as Highway 427, and it is convenient to come across a place to park. Humberwood is also fairly transit friendly. In particular, homeowners are served by around 10 bus lines, and bus stops are not very far-removed from most houses. It is at times challenging for people walking to navigate Humberwood because few daily errands can be run without the need for a vehicle. On the other hand, the bicycle is a good mode of transportation in this neighbourhood.

Services

A supermarket is usually reachable within a reasonably short distance from most homes for sale in this part of the city. Furthermore, a restaurant is commonly just around the corner, and house buyers benefit from a few cafes as well. As far as education is concerned, primary schools and daycares are easy to get to without the need for a vehicle from most properties for sale in Humberwood. However, high schools are not plentiful and therefore not always within walking distance.

Character

There are a lot of green spaces to enjoy in Humberwood. More specifically, it is very easy to access parks in the neighbourhood since there are about 20 of them close by for residents to visit. However, there are few tree-lined streets. Thanks to the presence of few pedestrians, this area is relatively quiet, although those who are closer to Highway 427 may experience higher levels of noise.

Housing

The buildings in this neighbourhood are very new, because roughly 45% of its buildings were constructed after the year 2000, while many of the remaining buildings were built in the 1980s and the 1990s. In this part of Toronto, around half of dwellings are large apartment buildings, whereas the remainder are mainly duplexes and single detached homes. Around two thirds of the population of this neighbourhood own their home and one third are renters. This area has a good choice of housing sizes, ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms.
