Located within the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area, Don Valley Village is a neighbourhood within Toronto, Ontario.

Transportation

No matter the means of transportation, it is moderately convenient to move around in Don Valley Village. This area is a fairly pleasant part of Toronto for pedestrians; many common errands can be run without a vehicle, and plenty of businesses are fairly close by. Commuting by bicycle is also convenient in Don Valley Village because the cycling network is extensive. The public transit system in this area is reasonably practical. Homeowners can depend on the Oriole and Old Cummer with access to the Richmond Hill. Commuters are served by various rapid transit stations on the Line 4 (Sheppard). The neighbourhood is linked by approximately 10 bus lines, and bus stops are not very far away from most properties. Don Valley Village is also very car friendly. It is a short drive to the nearest highway, such as Highway 404, from anywhere in this part of Toronto, and coming across a parking spot is generally easy.

Moreover, there are a fair number of opportunities in close proximity for those who appreciate restaurants and cafes. The character of Don Valley Village is exemplified by its slower-paced atmosphere. This neighbourhood features a good amount of greenery as many tree-lined streets are present. There are over 50 green spaces close by for residents to explore, including Parkway Forest Park and East Don Parkland, and they are very well-spread out, making it very easy to access them from most locations within this area. This area is quiet overall, as there tend to be low levels of noise from traffic - although there are still several louder sections, especially closer to Highway 404 Collector or Highway 404.

Housing

The proportions of renters and homeowners are about even. In this neighbourhood, most dwellings are large apartment buildings, while the rest are mainly single detached homes. A majority of the houses available in the housing market in this area were built in the 1960s and 1970s, when most of the housing growth took place. This part of Toronto has a good variety of housing size options, ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms.
