Getting around on foot is also practical for residents in this part of the city; many common errands can be run without the need to use a vehicle, and various businesses are reasonably close by. In contrast, high schools are not especially plentiful and thus tend to require a rather long trip to get to. Regarding eating, it is rarely practical for house buyers in Eastmount to buy groceries by foot. Additionally, there are a fair number of choices for those who care about nearby restaurants and cafes. Residents benefit from many nearby clothing stores.

Character

Eastmount has a character that caters to a fairly diverse group of people. Eastmount is quiet overall, as there are generally low levels of noise from traffic. However, there are about 20 parks close by for residents to visit, like Bruce Trail Park and Sam Lawrence Park, which makes it very easy to reach them. Finally, even though the ambience is not the liveliest in this part of Hamilton, its busier streets can still be quite energetic, and with the nightlife venues in nearby neighbourhoods, it is very easy to find a place to grab a drink because they are generally located around the corner.

Housing

In Eastmount, the majority of dwellings are single detached homes, while large apartment buildings and small apartment buildings are also present in the housing stock. This neighbourhood is primarily composed of two bedroom and three bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy around two thirds of the dwellings in Eastmount while the rest are rented. This part of the city experienced its main building boom before the 1960s, so most of the available homes are from this era.
