Part of the Greater Hamilton metropolitan area, Rural is a neighbourhood within Burlington, Ontario.


This area is very car friendly. It is especially convenient to park. Rural is not very cycling-friendly as there is a significant amount of elevation changes, and the bicycling infrastructure is quite bad. This area is also not very convenient for those who travel by foot because most daily needs are very impractical to meet without the use of a car.


Property owners in Rural almost always need a vehicle to reach the closest grocery store. There are a few options for those who appreciate restaurants in close proximity. Regarding education, there are only a very small number of primary schools in Rural and therefore they can be a very long walk away. Moreover, this area does not contain any high schools. Furthermore, it can be very hard to access daycares on foot.


Most areas in Rural are quiet, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour - however some parts can be quite noisy, especially around Highway 407, the railway line or the airport (ZBA).
