Part of the Greater Halifax metropolitan area, Oceanview is a neighbourhood within Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Transportation

Cars are a great mode of transportation in this neighbourhood. It is convenient to park, and the majority of real estate listings are a rather short drive from the nearest highway. On the other hand, the public transit service in this neighbourhood is not very frequent. Nevertheless, the neighbourhood is served by a few bus lines, and the closest bus stop is usually around the corner. Walking is not especially convenient for house buyers in Oceanview since few daily errands can be run without a vehicle. Biking is also sometimes difficult in Oceanview because there are few bike lanes, and there is a significant amount of elevation changes.

Services

A supermarket is usually reachable within a reasonably short walk from any location in Oceanview. In addition, a restaurant is often just around the corner, and there are also a few coffee shops in this neighbourhood. In terms of education, in Oceanview, families will almost always be able to access daycares and primary schools by walking. The character of Oceanview is exemplified by its relaxed environment. This area is also very quiet, as there are low levels of noise from traffic.

In this neighbourhood, roughly 30% of dwellings are single detached homes, while large apartment buildings, small apartment buildings, and townhouses make up most of the remaining housing stock. This neighbourhood experienced its biggest construction boom in the 1990s, so most of the available housing is from this era. This neighbourhood is primarily composed of three bedroom and two bedroom homes.
