Transportation

This part of the municipality is an extraordinarily good part of Halifax for moving around by car. It is very convenient to park. This community is not very bicycling-friendly because there are very few bike lanes, and cyclists are faced with a considerable amount of elevation changes. Traveling as a pedestrian is also not very practical for residents in this area because almost no daily needs can be met without a car.

Services

Upper Sackville does not contain any high schools or primary schools. Moreover, daycares are not particularly plentiful and thus tend to require a rather long trip to get to. Concerning food, it is very rarely an option for home buyers in Upper Sackville to access the closest grocery store by walking.

Character

Upper Sackville is a wonderful community to buy a house in for those who prefer a calm atmosphere. Upper Sackville is very quiet, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour. The majority of locations in the community have reasonably good access to green spaces, such as Springfield Lake Recreation Centre Park and Weir Park, since they are sparse. Despite that, there are a few parks close by for residents to unwind in.

Housing

The substantial proportion of single detached homes in the housing stock of Upper Sackville is an important part of its character. Roughly 30% of properties in this community were built after the year 2000, while most of the remaining buildings were built in the 1960s and the 1980s. This part of Halifax offers mainly four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy roughly 90% of the dwellings in Upper Sackville whereas the remainder are rented.
