Situated within the Greater Halifax metropolitan area, South Woodside is a neighbourhood in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Transportation

South Woodside is an extremely convenient part of Halifax for getting around by car. It is very convenient to park, and most real estate listings are a short car ride from the nearest highway. In contrast, the public transit in this part of the municipality is rather limited. Nevertheless, there are a few bus lines traversing the neighbourhood, and the closest bus stop is generally very close by. South Woodside is not very appropriate for biking since the bicycling infrastructure is not very comprehensive, and there is a significant amount of elevation changes. This part of Halifax is also not very conducive to those who like to get around as pedestrians as running common errands is at times difficult without a car.

Services

It is easy to reach the closest supermarket without needing a vehicle in South Woodside. A limited variety of restaurants and cafes can be found as well. Concerning education, families will find that wherever their property is located in this neighbourhood, primary schools and daycares are close by. In contrast, South Woodside does not contain any high schools.

Character

South Woodside is a wonderful neighbourhood to buy a home in for those who prefer a calm atmosphere. There are around 10 green spaces close by for residents to relax in, like Baker Drive Community Park, and they are especially well-distributed, which makes them easy to reach. Most areas in this part of Halifax are very quiet, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour.
